After selling his previous business, owner Thomas Maione was searching for a
new project to take on. He wanted to create a place in Austin for high-tech fun and adventure where
families could play together - and where kids would have an equal chance
against their parents! Since Thomas was already a fan of laser tag, opening a
laser tag facility seemed to be the perfect choice!
He, his wife Diana, and a couple of partners opened Blazer Tag Adventure Center in February 1999 in the former
Southwood Theatre. Since then, Thomas has continued improving the facility
with additions like a redemption prize counter, new video games, new bridges
in the arena, and currently a new second level lookout lobby with 3 new second level party rooms - all to keep the
experience fresh and exciting. He's also hired and trained an outstanding
staff to be knowledgeable and courteous and do whatever it takes to make each
visit to Blazer Tag a memorable one! His and the staff's goal is to continue to improve the facility and the quality of
service for our visitors!
And in 2003, Blazer Tag was awarded the
honor of "BEST
PARTY PLACE" by Austin Chronicle readers! Thanks to all our
loyal customers who noticed our efforts and voted for us!
Thomas Maione - Owner and President. Thomas is responsible for
customer satisfaction, day-to-day finances, and overall business operations.
Diana Maione - Diana was involved in the startup of the company and
for the first 2 years. Now a stay-at-home mom, taking care of their daughter
Angela and son Tony, she provides input on issues such as employee policies,
ad campaigns and the general look and feel of the facility.
Jackie Thomas - General Manager. Jackie joined
Blazer Tag in January of 2003, bringing management expertise from a variety
of restaurant and entertainment franchises. His focus is customer service and
ensuring that the staff goes out of its way to give each customer an
extraordinary experience.
Gabriel Kehl - Center Manager. Gabriel "Gabe" has been with Blazer Tag since the doors opened. He helped build the 10,000 sq. ft arena and has worked his way up in the company to Center Manager. Gabriel is great with children and will go out of his way to make sure you are having a great experience while you are at Blazer Tag.
Marilyn Woodworth - Marilyn started at Blazer Tag as a
Party
Coach in September 2000. After working hard as a Party Coach, she
was promoted to Event Coordinator in July 2001. She is a great asset
to the Event Coordinating Department and is great at coordinating
the various events that are held here at BlazerTag. Marilyn will bring
a smile to your face and help you with whatever Party questions
or concerns that you might have.
