ABOUT LASER TAG (pt. 2)
About Laser Tag / About Laser Tag Pt. 2 / Public Games / Arena Map

7. Track your progress by looking at the LCD display located on the back of your phaser. It will give a variety of messages throughout the game such as who tagged you and whom you tagged. It also shows the following information:

  • Energy - You lose one energy point every time you are tagged. If you lose all of your energy, you are deactivated for 10 seconds and lose one life. After 10 seconds, you reactivate with new ammo and energy. This is much like a video game.
  • Ammo - Everyone starts with 1,000 ammo per life. It is unlikely that new players will use up all that ammo in one game.
  • Credits - Each time you tag an opponent, you receive 1 credit. These credits can be used to obtain special powers from the GEMs.
  • Lives - Everyone starts with 20 lives. You lose a life each time you run out of ammo or energy. It is unlikely that you’ll lose 20 lives in one game.
  • Points - You earn 25 points every time you tag an opponent and 5 points are deducted every time you are tagged. The person who finishes with the most points at the end of the game is ranked #1!
  • Rank - Throughout the game you can keep track of your position (rank).

    8. Keep an eye out for the 7 GEMs situated on the walls throughout the arena. When tagged, they can give you special powers for a short period of time. In order to receive any special power, you must earn enough credits and "exchange" them with the GEM. Each GEM has a number that shows how many credits it takes to receive the special power.

  • Rapid Fire - this power allows you to tag your opponents with continuous laser fire when you press and hold the trigger.
  • Mega Power - when you tag someone with this power you deduct 10 points from your opponent rather than the standard 5. It’s like double "damage" in a video game.
  • Extra Energy - this gives you more energy to help you from being deactivated for 10 seconds.

Be careful, these GEMs also play an interactive role in the arena. If they detect someone walking by, they will begin a 3-second count down. If they reach 0, they will tag anybody within 15 feet. Therefore you must hide or tag the GEM before it reaches 0.

    9. Games are 15 minutes long except "Long Play Mondays" when the games are 25 minutes long. Once the game ends, make your way back to vesting room and remove your equipment. Don’t forget to pick your scorecard up at the front counter and work up your plan of attack for the next game! For more detailed info about the games, see our Public Games.

How can you play "Advanced Games"?
Once you master these (and play at least 5 games of Blazer Tag) you can play the advanced team games listed on the bulletin board!
